Disney+

When I think of nostalgia I think of making blanket forts, popping popcorn and watching Disney movies. Disney has always been a part of our lives in one way or another. Whether it be family vacations to Disney World or weekend movie nights with friends everyone I know has a favorite Disney movie or Disney character. My all-time favorite Disney movie would have to be The Parent Trap (1961.)

If all this talk of Disney movies has brought up some nostalgia for yourself well you are in luck because Disney+ was just released today! Disney+ is an American subscription video on-demand streaming service owned by the Walt Disney Direct-to-Consumer and International division of The Walt Disney Company. The service debuted in the United States, Canada and the Netherlands. Disney+ is focused on the film and television content from Walt Disney Studios and Walt Disney Television. There is content from Pixar, 20th Century Fox, Lucas Films and National Geographic. The service complements ESPN+ and Hulu as part of Disney's over-the-top strategy. For only $6.99 a month you can get just Disney+ and for $12.99 a month you can get Hulu, Disney+ and ESPN+ all bundled together.

Personally I think it was a brilliant move on Disney's part to create a streaming service for Disney movies and other related content. As people move further away from relying on regular TV and move toward owning multiple streaming apps it's easy to see why Disney released a streaming app of their own.
