"The Art of Social Media" Ch. 7 and 8

Livestreaming is one of my favorite things about social media. Being able to watch celebrities you admire in real time is fascinating. I even enjoy when my friends livestream on Facebook, or Instagram because it gives me a chance to see into their daily lives. Livestreaming is a great way to stay connected with the world, and if you are famous, with your fans. Many of my friends travel for a living and some of them livestream when they reach their destinations, or they livestream if they are staying in a fancy hotel. It's fun and interesting to watch. The other day I was watching my friend livestream on Instagram, she was in Germany just hanging out at a local pub, and it was so exciting to watch, I felt like I was there with her.

Livestreaming is something that you have to be careful with as well. You can easily make a mistake on camera that you can't take back, and everyone who is watching will see/hear it. One example of a celebrity who recently made a mistake while livestreaming is Dr. Disrespect and his public bathroom incident. Dr. Disrespect is a Twitch streamer, and internet personality who was livestreaming on Twitch in an E3 public bathroom. Since it is against the law in the state of California to film people in public bathrooms, Dr Disrespect was stripped of his E3 badge and banned from Twitch for 2 weeks. He issued an apology video and accepted his punishment, but I'm sure he has learned a lesson he won't soon forget.
