The Dodo

Have you ever been scrolling through Facebook and happen across a video of a heartwarming story about an animal being rescued from certain death? Chances are the video was created and shared by The Dodo. This social media site is dedicated to helping animals and sharing as much content about animal triumph stories as possible. The Dodo's goal is to serve up emotionally and visually compelling, highly shareable animal-related stories and videos to as many people as possible to help make caring about animals a viral cause. As well as having its own website to visit The Dodo is on YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat and Instagram. I follow The Dodo on all of their social media platforms because the videos they share brighten up my day. 

The company was named after the first recorded species that humans drove to extinction and was founded by Izzie Lerer out of a personal passion for the subject matter. Lerer has a PhD in animal studies with a focus on animal ethics and human relationships from Columbia University. The Dodo has become one of the most popular Facebook publishers garnering 1 billion video views from the social network and they are the #1 most loved publisher in the world on Facebook. This will explain why you always see the videos even if you don't personally follow The Dodo. I don't mind at all seeing the videos on my feed because I adore animal success stories and also the company was started for an amazing cause.
