That's a Wrap!
We have just finished up our Social Media for Strategic Communication book and to put it plainly the book was informative, helpful and well-written. I enjoyed reading this book because it had a lot of information I didn't know about in the world of social media. It took a deeper dive into the mechanics of social media and explained how it all works together. I especially enjoyed learning about what an influencer was and how they tie into social media and marketing. Before taking my social media class I only had basic knowledge of platforms and brand voice but after reading the chapters pertaining to these topics I now have a deeper understanding of them. At the beginning of each chapter an interview would be conducted of a professional person in social media and the author would ask them questions that would help the readers better understand the interviewee's profession. I found this very informative because it doesn't seem like much is known about the actual professionals behind the social media curtain. Most people don't realize how much work it takes to create and curate content and run a functional social media site.
I'll be honest at the beginning of my social media course I was very intimidated by the course contents and I wasn't sure if I would understand it or not. However, after completing all the assignments and taking the AP quizzes I'm glad I stuck with it. Some of the assignments assigned seemed impossible and overwhelming but I always found myself truly enjoying the assignment after I started it. None of my assignments ever felt pointless and they made me think deeper about the different aspects of social media. Even if you only have a slight interest in social media you would still find enjoyment out of the contents of this course.
